Nitya Karma
NITYA KARMA (DAILY SPIRITUAL PRACTICES)
The first recommended spiritual practice for Hindus is to identify with divinity which we can make possible even before we reach the prayer room. This singular act ensures that even if there are distractions, we would have started the day connecting with God.
After showering, one can look at the palms of both hands and recite the following prayer:
KARAAGRE VASATE LAKSHMIHI
KARA MADHYE SARASWATI
KARA MOOLAY STHITOR BRAHMAA
PRABHAATE KARA DARSHANAM
कराग्रेवसतेलक्ष्मिःकरमध्येसरस्वति।
करमूलेस्तिथोर्ब्रह्माप्रभातेकरदर्शनम्॥
Mother Lakshmi dwells at the tip of the fingers (Let me be prosperous),
Mother Saraswati in the middle of the hand (Let my speech be sweet),
At the base of the palm resides Lord Brahma, (Let my day be creative).
After reciting the prayer, touch your open palms to your forehead
