Translation
(Lankini aggressively tried to prevent Shree Hanumaan from entering Lankaa.)
“O Son! Now I consider myself highly blessed to be able to behold a Messenger of God.”
Interpretation
The above statement was made by Lankini, an ogress who was a main sentinel at Lankaa’s entrance. Her redemption from that form was facilitated by Shree Hanumaan who struck her down in that encounter, as He advanced into Lankaa.
The Creator, Brahmaa-ji, had told her that she would be released from that demonic form when overpowered by a Vaanar (a human being with monkey-like features). Shree Hanumaan stepped up to execute this plan, as He has done time and time again.
So often our focus is on the Supreme to deliver us from our challenges and provide solutions to our problems. In response, His messengers sometimes take up that mandate voluntarily. These messengers may be Deities and other Celestials in the guise of humans or even animals. If we are not looking in those directions, help and solutions may appear at our doorway but because our focus may be on the Supreme exclusively, the opportunity may well be missed.
